Minerva Careers ("we", "us", "our") is a CV analysis tool operated as a standalone web application. We are based in the United Kingdom and our service is directed at individuals seeking employment or career development support worldwide.

This means:

• Your CV file is parsed locally using pdf.js (for PDFs) and mammoth.js (for DOCX files), both of which run entirely in your browser.
• No CV text, personal data, contact information, or employment history is ever sent to Minerva Careers servers.
• Closing your browser tab permanently removes any trace of your data from memory.
• We have no technical ability to access, read, or recover your CV content.

When you use the AI-powered Cover Letter Analysis feature, your text is sent directly to Anthropic's API (the provider of the Claude AI model) over an encrypted HTTPS connection for processing. This is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We do not retain a copy of the text you submit.

We collect email addresses when you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter. We collect your name and message content when you contact us via the contact form.

When you visit Minerva Careers, we may automatically collect:

• Usage data: pages visited, time on page, referring URL, and feature interactions, collected via privacy-respecting analytics.
• Device data: browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and language settings.
• IP address: used for geolocation (country-level only) and fraud prevention. Not stored long-term.

• CV content, document files, or employment history
• Job descriptions you paste into the tool
• National insurance numbers, passport data, or financial information
• Sensitive personal data as defined under GDPR Article 9

• Analytics cookies: Privacy-first, anonymised analytics (no cross-site tracking). Require your consent.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Minerva Careers service

• Contact form submissions: 12 months from the date received, then deleted.
• Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymised; individual sessions are not retained beyond 26 months.
• Server access logs: Retained for up to 90 days for security purposes, then deleted.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews.

Minerva Careers is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.

When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify newsletter subscribers.
